| Jennifer Cleland was born in Arlington, Virginia in 1951. She lived in Pennsylvania until her family moved to Europe in 1962, where they lived in Paris and in Stuttgart, Germany. She entered Cornell University in 1968, took a leave of absence in 1971; during the seventies she played with the Highwoods Stringband, touring on three continents and receiving a Grammy nomination for an album that was recorded at Carnegie Hall. She finished her B.A. at Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania in 1989. She entered the graduate program at Cornell the next year, and worked in Romance Studies and in the Department of Modern Languages as a teaching assistant for seven years. Jennifer lives in Ithaca, New York with her husband, Bob Stundtner and has a son, Patrick Cleland Vittek. | |
